Dataset Description (abstract)dc.description.abstractThis document presents lexicographic data on Matbat (language code: xmt), a language spoken on the island Misol, in the Raja Ampat islands, which is part of the Papua Province of Indonesia. The dialect represented here is the one of the village of Magey, on the Southeast side of the island. The main part of the document is an alphabetic listing of more than 1000 lexicographic entries. Many entries are illustrated with examples. A capital sigma signposts non-elicited examples, i.e., spontaneous speech. Most of the material was collected during a 2-month fieldwork trip to May, during the second quarter of 2003; some was collected during two earlier fieldwork trips, in 1998 and in 2000. The data were collected from several speakers.en_UK
