To identify the key mechanisms that preserve healthy brain function and those that contribute to neurodegeneration. From molecules, to mouse, to man we investigate how factors such as age, reproduction, genetics, stress and immune function exert influences on the nervous system in health and disease.

The Division of Neurobiology also encompasses a world-leading centre for the study of human and animal transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs/prion diseases).
