From 2002 to 2012, the SCRIPT Centre was generously supported by two consecutive grants from the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council, with research themes examining the synergies between intellectual property law and information technology law together with work on media law, medical law and ethics, and forensic evidence. The SCRIPT Centre currently has over 20 Edinburgh-based and external members, as well as thriving community of postgraduate research students from around the world. The SCRIPT Centre is a founding member of the UK Research Councils-funded CREATe network on Copyright and New Business Models in the Creative Economy, a research consortium of seven UK universities and numerous industry, public sector and civil society partners (http://www.create.ac.uk/). Since 2004, the SCRIPT Centre has published SCRIPTed, a high-quality peer-reviewed open-access online international and interdisciplinary journal examining law, society, and technologies in the broadest sense (https://script-ed.org/).
