School of Biomedical Sciences

 

We are one of four schools within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.

The School of Biomedical Sciences (SBMS) aims to achieve excellence in biomedical research and teaching.

We teach undergraduates and run the BSc (Hons) Medical Sciences degree programme. This is administered through the Biomedical Teaching Organisation.

Our research is organised into five interdisciplinary centres which conduct groundbreaking research on a wide range of biomedical topics:

• Centre for Cognitive and Neural Systems
• Centre for Infectious Diseases
• Centre for Integrative Physiology
• Centre for Neuroregeneration
• Division of Pathway Medicine

We also contribute to interdisciplinary research through Edinburgh Neuroscience and Pharmacology and Therapeutics in Edinburgh.
