Such tests can be used to calibrate numerical models and to estimate rotor loading and wake development to inform the design of full scale machines and array layout. These CAD files provide the outer geometry of a highly instrumented turbine model developed as part of the X-MED project funded by the EPSRC (EP/ J010235/1). The model has a 1.2m diameter, three bladed horizontal axis rotor and is bottom mounted.
These two STL files provide the external geometry of a tidal turbine model. Nacelle_and_tower.stl corresponds to the stationary part and rotor.stl is the rotating part, including the blades.
